"I grew up surfing in Hawaii and lived in LA snowboarding in college. Experienced in all three sports.
Surfing is the most difficult and rewarding:
1. It takes more than a summer to learn the ocean. I'd be surprised if a snow/skater can catch and turn on a head-high wave.
2. Surfers ride on a dynamic riding surface. Snow/skate are the same runs every time.
3. Surf requires whole body strength - have you seen a snow/skater without a shirt? There is a good reason why surfers get all the ladies."
"i think anyone that has done all 3 knows that surfing is in a different ball park. snowboards and skate boards are a similar size and are very responsive to slight pressure and jumping/spinning is the same. surfing requires a lot more effort to turn, you need to turn your whole body.
i reckon the surfers will struggle to pick the other two sports while the other guys will struggle to pick up surfing."
